Conditions We Treat

Abnormal Biomechanics

Movement dysfunctions are often the result of repetitive micro-trauma from poor ergonomics, past physical injuries, or postural habits. When we move incorrectly, it creates a domino effect of tension and instability throughout the musculoskeletal system.

Headaches

Many headaches do not actually originate in the head, but rather in the structures of the upper neck. Known as cervicogenic headaches, these occur when mechanical dysfunction in the cervical spine irritates the nerves that travel from the neck into the scalp and base of the skull. This often results in a dull, aching sensation that can radiate from the back of the neck toward the temples or behind the eyes.

Low Back Pain

The low back serves as the primary support for your entire upper body while facilitating the complex movements of bending and twisting. Because this area bears significant weight and stress, it is one of the most common sites for biomechanical dysfunction. Low back pain often arises when the joints of the spine or the sacroiliac joints in the pelvis become restricted, leading to uneven pressure on spinal discs and irritation of the surrounding nerves.

Mid Back Pain

Mid back pain often develops when the joints where the ribs meet the spine become restricted or when the natural outward curve of the upper back becomes exaggerated. This typically results from prolonged sitting, repetitive reaching, or poor breathing patterns, leading to a sharp or dull aching sensation between the shoulder blades.

Neck Pain

Neck pain is often a sign that the delicate balance between the cervical spine and its supporting muscles has been disrupted. Because the neck is highly mobile and responsible for supporting the weight of the head, it is particularly susceptible to mechanical stress.

Postural Issues

Left unaddressed, poor posture does more than affect your appearance; it changes the mechanical load on your spine, which can lead to premature joint degeneration and restriction of movement.

Pre or Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Chiropractic care can play a vital role in the surgical journey, whether the goal is to prepare the body for a procedure or to facilitate a more complete recovery afterward. When surgery is required—such as for a joint replacement or spinal fusion—the surrounding joints and muscles often take on extra stress to compensate for the injured area. Our focus is on optimizing the mechanics of the rest of the body to support the surgical site and improve overall outcomes.

Pregnancy & Prenatal Care

Our prenatal care is focused on maintaining a balanced body. By utilizing the Webster Technique and addressing the mechanical stresses and changes related to pregnancy, we help the body adapt with greater comfort and ease.

Sciatica

Sciatica is a symptom caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, which is the longest and largest nerve in the human body. This nerve originates in the lower back and travels through the hips and down the back of each leg. When the nerve is pinched—often by a misaligned vertebra, a bulging disc, or a tight muscle in the pelvis—it can cause sharp, shooting pain, numbness, or tingling that radiates from the low back all the way to the foot.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a structural condition characterized by an atypical sideways curvature of the spine. Rather than a simple left-or-right bend, scoliosis often involves a complex rotational component where the vertebrae twist, affecting the ribs, hips, and shoulders. While some cases are present from birth, many develop during adolescent growth spurts or later in life due to asymmetrical wear and tear.

Sports Injuries

Our focus in sports chiropractic is not just to address the pain at the site of the injury, but to identify the mechanical breakdown in the kinetic chain that allowed the injury to happen in the first place. By restoring proper mechanics, we help athletes return to their sport with better efficiency and a reduced risk of re-injury.

TMJ (Jaw) Pain

Because the jaw and the upper cervical spine function as a single unit, a misalignment in the neck can force the jaw to shift its position to compensate. This leads to uneven wear on the joint disk and causes the powerful muscles of the jaw to become chronically tight or inflamed, often exacerbated by stress or nighttime teeth grinding.
