Pregnancy & Prenatal Care
During pregnancy, the body undergoes rapid physiological and mechanical changes to accommodate a growing baby. As the center of gravity shifts forward, the curve in the lower back increases, and the pelvis begins to tilt. These changes, combined with the release of hormones that loosen ligaments, can lead to pelvic instability, lower back tension, and altered walking patterns. If the spine and pelvis are not moving correctly, it can create unnecessary strain on the supporting muscles and ligaments.
Our prenatal care is focused on maintaining a balanced body. By addressing the mechanical stress placed on the frame, we help the body adapt to its changing shape with greater comfort and ease.
Dr. Annemarie Stupi is certified by the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) in the Webster Technique, an adjustment technique and protocal that focuses on creating opitmal pelvic alignment.
Because pregnancy often leads to compensatory muscle tightness in the hips and mid-back, we incorporate manual therapy to soothe overactive soft tissues. This integrated care helps manage the physical demands of pregnancy and prepares the body for a more efficient labor and recovery process.
